Recent Portable Proof-Load Tool (P-BAC-ADBY7V)
Enhance Efficiency with the P-BAC-ADBY7V Proof-Load Tool
At Smith Machine and Tool, LLC., we manufacture portable install, removal, and proof-load tools for all standard MS bearings. See table below. We also make custom tooling options for proof-loading in order to test a plethora of bearings. A customer recently received a high mis-alignment ADBY7V bearing specifi c proof-load tool for their AOG. What impressed them most about our tool was how easy it was to use in tandem with the dial indicator. However, had they had a standard MS bearing we would have recommended one of our portable install, removal and proof-load tools that is multifunctional. As opposed to our competitors that sell an install-specific tool, a separate removal tool, AND another proof-load tool. Our 3-in-1 innovation behind our tooling saves time and money when hot repairs require crucial tooling.
Proof-loading is required after a new bearing has been swaged into a housing, rod end, or aileron. The purpose of proof-load testing is to certify that a particular piece of equipment or hardware is safe for use. In this case, a portable proof-load tool is featured alongside a Mitutoyo dial indicator. This tool is usually paired with a Futek IHH500 handheld display and an LTH 350 5000 lb load cell. Luckily, for this customer we had a Mitutoyo dial indicator in stock as well. While this wasn’t a custom job our shop required time to ensure quality and durability of the tool. By the time this order was placed on early Monday, our customer was more than satisfi ed to receive the tool the following Monday. On the other hand, had this been an expedited order, the mechanic could have had hands on tools by Friday afternoon, if not sooner. It may not seem like much, but when time is of the essence we prioritize our customers’ needs and save vital hours in the process.
For a more in-depth look at the use of our tools, both arbor press and portable versions, we feature videos on YouTube that show a step-by-step breakdown of disassembly, the tool in action, and reassembly.
