Ball Staking Tool

Ball staking tools are designed for chamfered or non-v-groove bearings and are used either with a hydraulic press or portably to stake a housing, bushing, sleeve, or bearing. These tools are derived from an aerospace specification in which radius balls are used to swage the material and retain a bearing – they are found in many aircrafts, but commonly used in Gulfstreams. Smith Machine and Tool has intimate knowledge of these applications and regularly manufactures tooling for standard mil-spec MS14102 and MS14104 bearing series, as well as BABC10 bearings.
